PAYMENTS WITH CREDITS

No. You can book selected MotorShare vehicles as a standard daily rental. Credits are simply a prepaid payment option designed to give regular customers better value.
MotorShare credits are prepaid units that can be used to book eligible vehicles. Instead of paying the standard daily rental price each time, you can purchase credits in advance and use them across future bookings.
You purchase a pack of credits, such as 10, 20 or 30 credits. You can then use those credits to book eligible MotorShare vehicles. The number of credits required depends on the vehicle selected.
Credits give regular customers better value compared with paying the standard daily rental price each time (20% discount on average on all the cars if you are choosing a 10, 20 or 30 credits pack, and up to a 50% discount on a one day booking in the BMW i8 or the Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 if you select the 30 credits pack). The larger the credit pack, the stronger the effective value per rental.
Yes. You can still book selected MotorShare vehicles as a standard daily rental. Credits are optional and are designed for customers who plan to rent more regularly.
It depends on the vehicles you choose and the number of credits required for each booking. You can use your credits flexibly across eligible vehicles until your credit balance is used. For example, a Porsche Boxster 981 requires 0.5 credits per day, while a Ferrari 488 requires 3 credits per day.
Credits can be used on eligible MotorShare vehicles. The number of credits required depends on the vehicle, its category and the booking details. This will be shown before booking on your App.
Yes. You can purchase additional credits when needed.
Yes. MotorShare credits expire 3 years from the date of purchase, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the cars you want, whether you book now or later.
No. MotorShare credits are non-refundable and cannot be converted back into cash, credit, or any other monetary value.
Credits are linked to the customer account that purchased them. If you would like to add another approved driver to a booking or to your account, under the same conditions than the main driver and subject to MotorShare approval and additional fees (licence check).

MotorShare accepts major credit and debit cards, internet banking and cryptocurrency for selected MotorShare products and experiences. Depending on the booking type, you may be able to pay a deposit first or pay the full amount upfront. Any remaining balance must be paid before or at the start of the booking.
Yes. If you have MotorShare credits available, you can use them toward eligible vehicle bookings.

For this reason, we will ask for a physical card on the day of your booking so it can be securely registered in our payment system and used to hold the selected excess amount for your reservation.
Yes. MotorShare may require a security hold or pre-authorisation before the booking starts. The amount depends on the vehicle and the selected liability reduction option.
The security hold is released after the vehicle has been returned, inspected and any outstanding charges have been confirmed. Bank processing times may vary depending on your card provider.
Unless stated otherwise, MotorShare prices are inclusive of GST.

The customer remains responsible for applicable liability, charges and losses under the booking terms. Your vehicle can generate income when it is booked by MotorShare customers. Revenue is based on actual bookings, so income is not guaranteed.
No. Managed Vehicle income is not guaranteed. Revenue depends on customer demand, vehicle availability, pricing, seasonality and the number of bookings received.
Managed vehicles must be stored with MotorShare. This ensures the vehicle is available for bookings, properly presented to customers and maintained to MotorShare's cleanliness and operational standards.
Yes. As the owner, you can use your vehicle when it is not booked. Usage must be coordinated through MotorShare to avoid conflicts with customer reservations.
The vehicle needs to stay with MotorShare so it can be available for customers, cleaned between bookings, checked before and after use, and managed to the same standard as the rest of the fleet. This also helps protect the customer experience and maximise booking opportunities.

SYNDICATE PROGRAMME

The Syndicate model allows individuals to purchase a share in an exceptional vehicle, such as a Lamborghini Huracan, McLaren 650S or another high-end model. In return, syndicate owners receive access to that specific vehicle for a set number of days and kilometres, depending on the size of their share.
The Syndicate model is designed for people who want regular access to an exceptional car without owning the entire vehicle alone. It is ideal for drivers who want a deeper connection with one specific vehicle and plan to use it regularly.
You purchase a share of a specific vehicle. Your share gives you access to a defined number of driving days and kilometres in that vehicle. The larger your share, the more access you receive.
It depends on the share size you buy. For example, a 1/4 share may entitle you to around 90 days per year, while a 1/6 share may entitle you to around 60 days per year. A small allowance is usually kept aside for annual maintenance and operational requirements.
Pricing depends on the vehicle and the share size available. For more information, visit the Syndicate section on the MotorShare website.
All Syndicate owners become part of the MotorShare ecosystem. However, you do not need to purchase a standard annual credit pack or rental plan if you are already a Syndicate owner.
Yes. Syndicate owners can access MotorShare annual plans or credit packs at a discounted rate. This allows them to enjoy other vehicles in the fleet in addition to their Syndicate vehicle.
No. Syndicate days are linked to the specific vehicle you own a share in. If you want access to other vehicles, you can purchase a share in multiple Syndicate vehicles or add a MotorShare annual plan or credit pack at a discounted rate.
Yes. You may purchase shares in multiple Syndicate vehicles, subject to availability and MotorShare approval.
Your upfront costs usually include: your share of the vehicle, a MotorShare organisation fee, and a contribution to an expense fund for upfront or ongoing vehicle costs. Any remaining expense fund balance is held for future vehicle-related costs.
Syndicate owners are responsible for their share of ongoing vehicle costs. These may include insurance, maintenance, servicing, tyres, cleaning, registration, storage and other operating expenses.
MotorShare manages the maintenance, servicing, insurance coordination and general operational requirements of the vehicle. The costs are shared between Syndicate owners.
No. The Syndicate model should not be viewed as an investment strategy. Most vehicles depreciate and carry ongoing operating costs. While some vehicles may increase in value, this should not be expected.
Yes, it is possible. If the vehicle appreciates, the value of your share may also increase. However, most vehicles depreciate, and Syndicate owners should expect depreciation as part of vehicle ownership.
Yes. When the vehicle is not being used by Syndicate owners, it may be made available to approved MotorShare customers. This can help generate revenue for the Syndicate.
MotorShare charges a management fee on bookings made by MotorShare customers. The remaining revenue is distributed between Syndicate owners based on their ownership share and usage structure, after applicable operating expenses.
MotorShare charges a management fee on revenue generated when the vehicle is used by MotorShare customers. The remaining revenue is shared between Syndicate owners, after operating expenses.
Yes. If your share of revenue exceeds your share of vehicle expenses, you may be able to apply the balance toward MotorShare credit packs or annual plans.
Syndicate vehicles are stored at the MotorShare Garage in Penrose, Auckland.
The vehicle is legally registered under MotorShare. Each Syndicate owner signs an agreement confirming their shared ownership interest in the vehicle. A security interest may also be registered on the PPSR.
Bookings are made through the MotorShare booking system, available through the website and mobile app. Booking rules are designed to ensure fair access between Syndicate owners.
Yes. Syndicate owners receive priority access to their vehicle. In exceptional cases, a Syndicate owner may request priority over a MotorShare customer booking, but this is not encouraged unless truly necessary.
All approved MotorShare customers are subject to liability and excess requirements. If another customer damages the vehicle, MotorShare will manage the process, including damage assessment, customer liability and repair coordination.
Only MotorShare-approved drivers may drive the vehicle. You may be able to add one additional approved driver, such as a family member or close contact, subject to MotorShare's approval process.
MotorShare's standard vehicle usage rules apply. In general, track use, off-road driving, unsealed roads, ferry transport and use outside the North Island are not permitted unless specifically approved by MotorShare.
Yes. MotorShare manages cleaning and presentation of the vehicle. Cleaning costs are generally treated as part of the vehicle's operating expenses. If a Syndicate owner returns the vehicle clean to MotorShare's standard, the cleaning cost may be waived.
You can notify MotorShare if you wish to sell your share. You may also find a buyer yourself, subject to MotorShare approval, which may help avoid additional administration fees. If a suitable buyer is not found, MotorShare may assist you in listing the share on Trade Me or other suitable platforms. Listing or administration fees may apply. Depending on the terms of your Syndicate agreement, MotorShare may also have the option to purchase the share from you.
If the Syndicate agrees to sell the vehicle, sale proceeds are distributed between owners according to their share, after any applicable costs, fees or outstanding expenses.
No. MotorShare may review pricing, positioning or whether the vehicle should remain in the programme and inform all owners before selling the car.
Yes, but the buyer must be approved by MotorShare. This ensures every Syndicate owner meets the required standards and understands the rules of the programme.

You can express interest in specific vehicles or upcoming Syndicate opportunities. MotorShare will decide which vehicles are suitable for the Syndicate programme based on demand, availability, value and long-term fleet strategy.
It can be, if you want regular access without carrying 100% of the purchase price, storage, maintenance and operating costs yourself.
Usage is tracked through the MotorShare booking system. Rules are in place to ensure fair access between owners.
